Zach had it all planned—his surprise proposal to Mandy (Amanda) was already set to happen earlier in their trip to Iceland, but he had one more surprise up his sleeve. He wanted to capture their engagement in a way that felt meaningful, surrounded by Iceland’s breathtaking landscapes. So, without Mandy knowing, he booked an adventure session to celebrate the moment, choosing Skogafoss and Sólheimajökull as their stunning backdrops.
Engagement Photos at Skogafoss: A Timeless Backdrop
We began the session at Skogafoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls. Mandy looked absolutely stunning in a flowing white dress, which stood out beautifully against the powerful cascade behind them. Despite the November chill and the waterfall’s misty spray, they embraced every moment, laughing, holding each other close, and soaking in the experience.

After capturing their love at Skogafoss, we made our way to Sólheimajökull Glacier, a striking contrast to the waterfall’s rushing waters. As we hiked toward the glacier, Zach and Mandy took in the otherworldly scenery, enjoying the moment together. The icy blue hues of the glacier, mixed with the black volcanic ash streaks, made for a truly unique setting.
One of the highlights of this part of the session was a proposal re-do—Zach got down on one knee once again, allowing us to capture this special moment in front of the glacier. It was a fun and heartfelt way to add to their engagement story, making their Iceland photos even more meaningful.
