Alexa and Mike traveled from Ohio to Iceland looking for something a little different — scenic wedding photos surrounded by epic nature, not tourist crowds. They had already tied the knot back home, but this session on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula was all about capturing the next chapter of their love story: full of adventure, laughter, and Iceland’s wild beauty.

We explored some of my favorite locations in the region — Arnarstapi, Hellnar, Kirkjufellsfoss, Selvallafoss, and the lava fields below Snæfellsjökull. The weather that day was unseasonably warm (a rare treat in May!), and the light and low fog near sunset made everything feel extra magical. We even ended the day at an unplanned stop on the way back to Reykjavík because the view was just too good to pass up.

Snæfellsnes is one of the most incredible places in Iceland for couples’ photos — a perfect mix of cliffs, waterfalls, ocean views, lava fields, and peaceful roads with hardly anyone around.
If you’re dreaming of your own relaxed, nature-filled wedding photos in Iceland, I’d love to help you plan something unforgettable.
